A MESSAGE FROM MONA
Empowering Families with Effective ABA Therapy for Autism, ADHD, Language and Development Delays
Reach Behavior & Development Center is the first center in Bahrain to become a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) and to become a Continued Education Units (CEU) provider by the International Behavior Analyst Organization (IBAO).
Autism Spectrum Disorders affect as many as 1 out of every 54 children and can present unique challenges for parents and children alike. Reach Behavior and Development Center specializes in partnering with families to develop the skills and strategies that enable their children to be happy and independent.
We offer a wide range of direct and consultative services for children with developmental delays and their families. Our comprehensive programs strive to foster your child’s independence in areas including communication, social skills, behavior, cognitive functioning, and life skills.
We work with schools and families to serve children of all ages. We see children with a range of learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and more.
Reach Behavior and Development Center is the first in Bahrain to be designated as an approved Continued Education Units (CEU) provider. This enables us to provide continued education to those with their IBT and IBA certifications.
Our Services
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) - Behavior Therapy
Reach Behavior Therapists provide direct therapy which is guided by individualised treatment programs. These are developed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA/IBA), based on a variety of student assessment results (e.g., VB-MAPP, FBA, AIM, ESDM, Vineland), direct observations, and input/feedback from parents, school and/or therapists. Additionally, behavior analysts and behavior therapists will work with parents, family members, or school staff on the implementation of ABA strategies to facilitate the generalization of skills and to maximize the student’s opportunities for learning.
Our diverse team of therapists will work hand in hand with the child on decreasing behavioral excesses such as maladaptive or stereotypic behaviors, as well as building skills across all domains including:
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on various cognitive, physical, and motor skills, with the aim of improving a child’s daily life through play-based therapy. Our Occupational Therapists provide assistance to families and children from infancy to adolescence, focusing on areas such as sensory processing, self-regulation, gross and fine motor coordination, visual perception, visual motor and handwriting skills, independent self-care, feeding skills, and play.
The main goal of OT is to help children achieve age-appropriate independence and participate more fully in life. To begin the therapy process, a certified Occupational Therapist assesses the child’s developmental level and sets goals based on the evaluation. The therapist then selects strategies and techniques that will help enhance the child’s critical skills. The OT intervention includes various areas such as:
Speech and Language Therapy
Our Speech and Language Therapy program offers transformative support for children facing challenges with communication, language, articulation and fluency of speech.
Speech therapy involves individualized sessions that include assessment, goal setting, and engaging activities tailored to a child’s specific needs. Our Speech therapist uses interactive games, exercises, and play-based techniques to stimulate development. This can also include modeling sounds and syllables during age-appropriate play, while parents participate and receive strategies to support their child’s progress at home.
Our highly trained Speech Therapist works with parents to assess and treat children with speech, language, and communication impairments. We specialize in the following types of disorders:
Social Skills Development
We provide social skills training to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. The focus of the program is to increase the child’s overall ability to:
• Recognize and interpret verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Develop appropriate peer relationships.
• Assist individuals with improvement in social interactions by expanding their interest in age-appropriate topics, toys, and play skills.
• Increase their ability to recognize the emotions of others.
• The goal is to minimize the stress and anxiety when participating in social interaction. The program strives to provide the tools necessary for successful interpretation of social and communication skills.
Social Skills Program:
School Shadowing
We offer consultation for individuals in their school settings and contact with schools who are seeking ABA, Speech or OT services. We provide services that address needs such as comprehensive assessments, behavioral assessments, teacher and staff training, modification of curriculum, social skills facilitation, program development and ongoing supervision. We also provide an ABA trained shadow to provide direct learning support at school.
School Readiness Program
We’ll help your child master milestones, gain confidence and be school-ready in a supportive, school-like environment.
Parent Training
We teach parents practical strategies to manage challenges, encourage positive behaviors, and improve communication.
Private Therapist Supervision
We supervise your child’s private therapist, ensuring they use the right strategies. Our BCBA-led guidance includes updating goals, refining therapy plans, and training both therapists and parents for consistent progress.
Community and Home Outreach
We provide outreach services in community and home settings to offer individualized support and intervention tailored to each child’s specific needs and environment.
Toilet Training and Support
We offer guidance and support for families and schools in developing effective toilet training strategies for children who require assistance.
Feeding Therapy
We support children (ages 2–12) who struggle with eating challenges like avoiding food groups, texture sensitivities, extreme pickiness, or difficulty transitioning to solids. Using assessments, mealtime observations, and play-based therapy (SOS Approach to Feeding), we address medical, sensory, or developmental barriers while fostering food confidence.
