As parents, we celebrate every milestone in our children\u2019s lives, their first words, first steps, and first days of school. But what happens when school ends? For many families of teens and young adults with autism or developmental needs, this transition can feel uncertain, even overwhelming.<\/span><\/p>\n At Reach, we want you to know: you\u2019re not alone, and there is a path forward.<\/span><\/p>\n We are proud to introduce our new Reach Forward – Life Skills and Work Placement Program, a new initiative designed specifically for young people aged 12\u201322 who are ready to develop real-world skills for independence, employment, and daily life.<\/span><\/p>\n Why This Program Was Created<\/b><\/p>\n Over the years, many of you have asked us: \u201cWhat comes next after school?\u201d You\u2019ve shared your hopes for your teen\u2019s future: meaningful work, daily independence, social connections, and a sense of purpose. Yet, options for structured, supportive programs for older learners in Bahrain have been limited.<\/span><\/p>\n That\u2019s why we created the Reach Forward program: to bridge the gap between childhood services and adulthood, with a focus on real-life skills and community inclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n What the Program Offers<\/b><\/p>\n Every young person is unique, so our program offers two flexible pathways:<\/span><\/p>\n Vocational Readiness Pathway<\/b><\/p>\n For teens ready to explore work, this pathway starts with hands-on training in our clinic, like practicing hotel housekeeping, caf\u00e9 service, or retail tasks, and gradually moves into real community workplaces with staff support.<\/span><\/p>\n Daily Living Skills Pathway<\/b><\/p>\n For those who need to strengthen foundational skills first, this pathway focuses on routines, everything from morning preparation and meal skills to communication, safety, and self-advocacy, with our therapists guiding the way.<\/span><\/p>\n Both pathways are:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A Message to Parents<\/b><\/p>\n We know that watching your child grow up brings both pride and worry.
