Reach Forward – Life Skills and Work Placement Program
Helping Your Teen Step into Adulthood with Confidence
As parents, we celebrate every milestone in our children’s lives, their first words, first steps, and first days of school. But what happens when school ends? For many families of teens and young adults with autism or developmental needs, this transition can feel uncertain, even overwhelming.
At Reach, we want you to know: you’re not alone, and there is a path forward.
We are proud to introduce our new Reach Forward – Life Skills and Work Placement Program, a new initiative designed specifically for young people aged 12–22 who are ready to develop real-world skills for independence, employment, and daily life.
Why This Program Was Created
Over the years, many of you have asked us: “What comes next after school?” You’ve shared your hopes for your teen’s future: meaningful work, daily independence, social connections, and a sense of purpose. Yet, options for structured, supportive programs for older learners in Bahrain have been limited.
That’s why we created the Reach Forward program: to bridge the gap between childhood services and adulthood, with a focus on real-life skills and community inclusion.
What the Program Offers
Every young person is unique, so our program offers two flexible pathways:
Vocational Readiness Pathway
For teens ready to explore work, this pathway starts with hands-on training in our clinic, like practicing hotel housekeeping, café service, or retail tasks, and gradually moves into real community workplaces with staff support.
Daily Living Skills Pathway
For those who need to strengthen foundational skills first, this pathway focuses on routines, everything from morning preparation and meal skills to communication, safety, and self-advocacy, with our therapists guiding the way.
Both pathways are:
- Led by experienced BCBA supervisors
- Personalized through detailed assessments
- Family-involved—because you know your child best
- Focused on safety, dignity, and meaningful progress
A Message to Parents
We know that watching your child grow up brings both pride and worry. Our goal is to turn that worry into confidence by providing structure, support, and a clear plan for the future.
This program isn’t just about teaching tasks; it’s about nurturing abilities, self-esteem, and readiness for the next chapter of life. It’s about helping your young adult feel capable, valued, and connected.
